Helping One of Our Own

There are times in our lives when we see such devastation, such total tragedy, that we are compelled into action.  I had been following the floods in Australia, and was overcome with concern over how so many families would have to start over.  That was a world away though, and while I knew it was awful, I didn’t really think much more about it.  Isn’t that how it happens?  It could never happen to me, I couldn’t possibly be affected by this.  And then it does.

A week or so ago, I learned that one of my favorite digi designers, Zoe Pearn, had lost her home in the flood.  Zoe is truly one of the most talented designers out there, as well as one of the nicest people I’ve “met.”  She is an inspiration to, as so many of you already know, so I was heartbroken to learn of her situation.  You can read her story HERE, as well as see some pictures of the affect the flood had on her home.  After learning how badly her home had been damaged, and what her family (including her adorable 2 month old daughter Lola) was going through, I knew I needed to help.

That’s why I was so grateful to be asked to be part of a charity collab that the girls at Sweet Shoppe were putting together.  I could tell you how honored I was to be asked, or how cool it is to have my stuff included in a SSD Collab kit, but that would be missing the point.  I was just happy to help.  Brighter Days Ahead is a massive collab (I’ve already purchased it….it’s HUGE), the proceeds from which will go directly to Zoe and her family.  It’s available until February 15th, and is $10.  Check it out.

In addition to the Sweet Shoppe Designers, Brigher Days Ahead also includes contributions from the following designers:  Amanda Heimann, Amy Wolff, Christy Lyle, Flergs, Jady Day Studio, Jennifer Fox, Jacque Larsen, Lauren Reid, Lizzy Reiber, Kay Miller, Melita Blake, Nikki Epperson, Sara Gleason, Sir Scrapalot, Tracie Stroud, and Valorie Wibbens.

Opporutnities to help someone in need, someone that you know, don’t come around all that often.  Please consider picking up this kit.  Your contribution and help will be greatly appreciated.
